   LBCC Wireless Hotzones Guidelines

The purpose of this guideline is to provide guidance for implementation and appropriate usage of wireless networking within Long Beach City College. Academic Computing & Information Technology (ACIT) and Student Services Technical Support has the authority and responsibility to specify requirements for all devices connecting to the campus network, as well as device configuration management to avoid any adverse impact on the operation of other network devices.


These guidelines applies to all authorized users of Long Beach City College computing and network resources, and all wireless networking implemented for faculty, staff or students at the LBCC Liberal Arts and Pacific Coast Campuses. This includes all wireless access points attached to the Long Beach City College network and all wireless access points located on Long Beach City College owned or leased property. These guideline also applies to other wireless devices and technology that share radio frequency ranges used by the wireless networking infrastructure at Long Beach City College (e.g., 2.4 GHz cordless phones and Bluetooth technology).

These guidelines deals with access to Long Beach City College computing and network resources, all relevant provisions in the Usage Guidelines are applicable and included by reference in this document.
